Sriracha Lime Barbecued Tofu Steaks -

A really satisfying and flavourful recipe for a hearty tofu “steak” on the grill!

  • 1 block Firm Tofu
  • 1/4 Cup Sriracha
  • 2 Limes
  • 1/2 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup Soya Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Honey or Agave Syrup
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic, minced


  1. First drain and press the tofu, and cut into 6 steaks lengthwise.
  2. To prepare the marinade: Slice the limes into thin rounds (leaving the skin on). Place the slices in a large resealable bag with the sriracha, ketchup, soya sauce, honey and garlic. Use your fingers to squeeze all the ingredients together from the outside of the bag (this will help activate the juice of the lime).
  3. Carefully place the tofu slices in this marinade making sure to submerge completely. Leave to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  4. Turn on your barbecue to a medium high heat. Place the tofu steaks on the grill for about 3 minutes per side. Just before flipping brush the steaks with the remaining marinade in the bag.
