Pear and Ginger Galette -

This is just a spectacular dessert to serve at the end of a sit down dinner party! You can poach the pears up to a week in advance and then assemble the tart the day of your party.

  • 1 10 inch Pie Crust dough (Store bought or homemade)
  • 1 Recipe Ginger Poached Pears
  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips


  1. Preheat oven to 375 F (190 C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Slice the poached pear halves into about 5 slices each. Place pear halves in a circular pattern in the center of the rolled out pie crust leaving about an inch border around the edges.
  4. To close the galette, bring the outer edges of the pie shell towards the center (this tart should look rustic, so do not worry about making it perfectly even!).
  5. Bake at 375 F for 25 minutes.
  6. Just before serving, place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 45 seconds, until melted. Drizzle the chocolate over the galette and serve.
