Herbed Bulgur -

Bulghur is a healthy grain with a nutty taste that can be used as a side dish instead of rice when you need a change. It is very simple to cook any day of the week! In this recipe I used palm oil, but it can also be made with vegetable oil.

  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Cup Medium Grain Bulghur
  • 1 1/2 Cups Vegetable Stock or Water
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. Fresh Mint
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. Palm Oil


  1. In a medium sauce pan over medium high heat add the palm oil with the diced red onion. Stir for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the bulghur and stir to combine for about 1 minute more.
  3. Add the vegetable stock, salt and pepper and Bring to a boil.
  4. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 20 minutes or until tender.
  5. Stir in the chopped parsley and mint just before serving.
