If you would like to prepare in advance you can store the pears in an airtight container with the poaching liquid for about a week. Be sure to keep the liquid even after the pears are eaten – it is great to sweeten up your morning smoothies!

Apple Nachos

Oooh yes Apple Nachos! Crisp apple slices are layered with melted peanut butter, caramel and toasted nuts – what could be better! This is a great “healthy” treat to have while watching a big game without the guilt!

Watermelon, Basil and Feta Salad

The saltiness of the feta pairs so beautifully with the sweetness from the watermelon! It is just delicious as a quick lunch or to knock your friends’ socks off at a summer barbecue! This dish is best assembled last minute, but you can prep all the ingredients a few hours before serving and just mix last minute. The watermelon is best cold in this dish, so try to keep it in the fridge before assembling.

Apple Date Quinoa Porridge

This is a great alternative to the classic oatmeal – using superfood quinoa! It’s also super delicious and satisfying!

Almond Butter

This is a really great spread for your morning bagel or some crackers for an afternoon snack! It’s a wonderful alternative to peanut butter! This recipe will make about 1 cup of Almond Butter. It will store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 1 month. Note that in order to get proper consistency on this butter you need a really powerful blender such as a Vitamix or a Ninja.

Avocado Banana Smoothie Bowl

A smoothie bowl is the new food fad right now and I can certainly understand why! It is a really thick smoothie that you need to eat with a spoon, and a bonus is you can top it with whatever you like! Kind of a cross between a smoothie and a bowl of ice cream! The avocado in this one makes it super creamy and delicious – really addictive!

Oh So Nutty Breakfast Bars

These are a really crunchy breakfast or snack bar with all the goodness of nuts! I found it was easiest to make these bars in a pie plate with removable bottom. These bars store for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. Makes about 12 bars.

Frozen Yogurt Candies

A really great guilt free dessert or snack! After you unmold them you can freeze in a Ziploc bag for up to a month. This recipe should give you about 24 yogurt candies.

Another fun way to eat and enjoy this super food Chia Seeds! I love to eat this as a breakfast to give me energy for the day! The bananas add a sweet creaminess while the pumpkin seeds add a little crunch to this comforting bowl. I find a mason jar is the best tool for this since you can prepare, shake and store all in one! I like to prepare this at night so that I can just grab it in the morning. You can also prepare several of them at once, they will last up to a week in the fridge in your mason jar.

Rosewater Pomegranate

This is an exquisite way to enjoy a pomegranate! The rosewater brings out the natural flowery taste of the pomegranate! It is even better the next day, so feel free to prepare it in advance and store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Apple Jam with Rose Water

This is a delicious jam that is traditionally made by Iraqi Jews for the Jewish New Year. I usually make huge portions of it and give it away as gifts to friends and family. The secret to this recipe is the Red Delicious apples, any other apple melts and turns into sauce so do not try to use a different apple! Also, it is important to note that when cutting your apples try to make your pieces as even as possible to ensure that everything cooks at the same rate. This recipe will make 2 X 500 ML jars.
