Frozen Coconut Pineapple

Caramel Apple Dutch Baby

A Dutch Baby is a classic German pancake / popover served for breakfast. In this version, I have a little cheat to make it super simple to prepare – pancake mix! I do recommend serving immediately after this dish comes out of the oven, otherwise the caramel will harden and get stuck to the bottom of your skillet (it won’t come out nicely). If you want to slice a few pieces after the caramel has hardened, just pop it back in the oven for 5 minutes to make it easy to slice once again!

Pear and Ginger Galette

This is just a spectacular dessert to serve at the end of a sit down dinner party! You can poach the pears up to a week in advance and then assemble the tart the day of your party.

Ginger Poached Pears

Pears and ginger love each other’s company in this beautiful poached treat! This can be served for an elegant dessert or brunch. If you would like to prepare in advance you can store the pears in an airtight container with the poaching liquid for about a week. Be sure to keep the liquid even after the pears are eaten – it is great to sweeten up your morning smoothies!

Halva is a Middle Eastern Dessert delicacy! Making your own is actually a lot easier than you may imagine! In this version I added almonds and a touch of rose water, as that has always been my favorite halva flavorings. I suggest you use a candy thermometer for this to ensure precision.

Dark Chocolate Almond Treats

These little dessert treats are so special! The crunchy almonds underneath the smooth dark chocolate is just divine! When baking with nuts its always important to use good quality nuts and toast them to bring out their flavor. I suggest using a chocolate mold which can be purchased at a baking supply store to make the pretty flower shapes. You can also use a silicone ice cube tray. If you want to make these in advance, pop them out of the molds once set and place in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. This recipe will give you about 36 chocolate treats.

These are just crazy delicious. As you bite into that dark chocolate exterior you get the creamy coconut interior...mmmm! They will also keep really well in the freezer in an airtight container for about 6 months. So make a big batch and pop a few out when you have company! This recipe will give you 12 large or 20 small treats.

David’s “Dream” Brownies
