Dark Chocolate Almond Treats -

These little dessert treats are so special! The crunchy almonds underneath the smooth dark chocolate is just divine! When baking with nuts its always important to use good quality nuts and toast them to bring out their flavor. I suggest using a chocolate mold which can be purchased at a baking supply store to make the pretty flower shapes. You can also use a silicone ice cube tray. If you want to make these in advance, pop them out of the molds once set and place in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. This recipe will give you about 36 chocolate treats.

  • 1 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Tbsp. Coconut Oil
  • 1 Cup Almonds

  1. First toast the almonds and roughly chop them.
  2. Place the chocolate chips with the coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until completely melted.
  3. Add in the toasted almonds and mix well.
  4. Drop the chocolate nut mixture by teaspoonfuls into the chocolate molds. Place the filled molds directly into the freezer and freeze for about an hour (or overnight) to set. When ready to serve just pop the chocolates out of the molds and place on a tray.
